Do you have high integrity, dedication to your profession, and a commitment to success, yet feel challenged in a roomful of strangers? A sincere desire to help others comes through when we relax into being ourselves. By following the guidelines below, you'll not only be more attractive, you'll get more clients and see unlimited referrals.

1. Introduce yourself to others using eye contact and a smile.

2. Make an extra effort to remember people's names.

As Dale Carnegie says, "the sweetest sound to a person is their name."

3. Show others you're interested in them.

Be careful of the yawn or the roving eyes. Be understanding of beliefs different from your own.

4. Display your sense of humor.

People remember humor six times longer than regular conversation.

5. Be enthusiastic about life.

Others are attracted to those who are upbeat, positive, cheerful and complimentary.

6. Use positive body language.

Use the SOFTEN technique. (S

7. Make everyone feel important by paying full attention.

President Clinton is a master of this. When you talk to him, he makes you feel like you are the only one in the room.

8. Listen, Listen, Listen.

Don't interrupt. We not only become more likeable, but we really start to understand the person's wants, needs and tolerations.

9. Speak concisely.

Practice your laser phrases. Be able to tell people what you do in a few short sentences.

10. Underpromise and overdeliver.

In other words, give them more than they expect. Ask them their opinion.
