The Top 10 Way to Use Your Intuition in Designing Your HTML Ezines and Marketing

Always believe in your intuition! If you haven't developed yours, take courses to teach you how to do this.

1. Recognize and value subliminals.

Your choice of background color is one of the most important choices you will make. Use this quick color coding: blue for peace of mind, green for growth, orange for energizing, yellow for thinking, red for action, pink for feelings, lavendar for higher aspirations and spirituality. Avoid dark colors such as burgundy, brown and black.

2. Identify where a person will be energetically at the time they will want to use your services.

I.e., will they be worried, excited, frustrated, or relaxed and indulgent, etc? Consider this: do you want the person to stop and think before they call you or is the response you want impulsive and emotional? Pick your color accordingly.

Here's an example and you may want to consult a professional such as myself until you pick up on how to do this. Say you are coaching people on emotional intelligence. You will want to remind them sensitively that they experience problems in this area. Use a red background with pale blue letters. Subliminally the red reminds them that they can be impulsive, insensitive or self centered. The pale blue letters remind them of the peace of mind that will come with getting this area of their inner world sorted out.

Another example: Suppose you like helping depressed people or people with intertia who need to set goals and focus clearly. Use a grass-green or peridot background (the peridot stone heals depression) with light pink letters. The shade of green background reminds your client that they grow and heal when they speak with you. The pink letters remind them that an act of self love would be to pick up the phone and schedule an appointment.

3. More visuals, fewer words.

Visuals appeal directly to the right brain where all important decisions are made. Words tie your potential client down in the analysis ... paralysis of the left brain. You don't want your client to go off and think about your ezine. You want them to pick up the phone and call you or email you.

4. A picture speaks a thousand words.

I just want to emphasize this use of visuals. Use one compelling picture, a line of text at most, put your name and phone number.

An example would be: suppose you are personal coach. Put a picture of a football coach in a very tight huddle with a wide-eyed kid ... you've seen dozens of these on the sports pages. Ask the question: When was the last time you had someone on YOUR side? Then your name and phone number/email address.

5. Steady contact. One ezine a week is better than three days in a row and nothing for 3 weeks.

Steady contact builds trust and reliability into your professinal image (subliminally).

6. Pay meticulous attention to the subject line and pray hard for inspiration!!

This is the only thing your potential client will see in their inbox. You have about 4 words to grab their attention. Be warm, sensitive but provocative. Really pray for inspiration on this score!! One thing I do to trigger my creativity is remember book and movie titles I loved and parrot them in some way. This makes the same connection for your client subliminally ... to something they loved as well.

7. Link to a thought piece.

Your best internet client is likely to be an introvert. Introverts love the internet and statistics are showing that introverts use the internet almost 2 to 1! Give your introvert something to read at his or her leisure.

8. Recommend books.

Your biggest internet users are introverts. Introverts love to read! Browse the amazon.com associates program and add that wonderful resource to your ezine pages. Consider sending $5 gift certificates to amazon.com in the email periodically.

9. Applaud your ezine reader for being on the Internet regularly.

This is a very select group of people still in the world -- many don't own a computer or know how to use one -- and they need to be congratulated for having the good taste, intelligence and foresight to be in your ezine audience! Internet users are in the vanguard so play to this image and give them a great self concept for their sense of adventure.

10. Expect to be lucky!

A positive attitude triggers inspiration and helps you recognize opportunities.
