A full and balanced life has so many components - and getting a handle on the components that are important to you is a fun and interesting journey. During my journey to explore the "full and balanced life" components, I've collected the following quotes, reminders of the qualities of life that make my life full:

1. Friendship

When you don't feel that you have to be perfect to be accepted, when you are given the freedom to be yourself in every situation, when you can share your heart without risk of betrayal, when being together is more important than what you do ... that is when you're in the presence of a friend. ~ Unknown ~

2. Success

To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded! ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~

3. Courage

Courage means flying in the face of criticism, relying on yourself, being willing to accept and learn from the consequences of all your choices. It means believing enough in yourself and in living your life as you choose so that you cut the strings whose ends other people hold and use to pull you in contrary directions. ~ Wayne Dyer ~

4. Love

Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible -- it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to evolve you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could. ~ Barbara De Angelis ~

5. Acceptance

Accept everything about yourself -- I mean everything, You are you and that is the beginning and the end -- no apologies, no regrets. ~ Clark Moustakas ~

6. Beauty

You can take no credit for beauty at sixteen. But if you are beautiful at sixty, it will be your soul's own doing. ~ Marie Carmichael Stopes ~

7. Wisdom

True wisdom lies in gathering the precious things out of each day as it goes by. ~ E. S. Bouton ~

8. Goals

Goals are a means to an end, not the ultimate purpose of our lives. They are simply a tool to concentrate our focus and move us in a direction. The only reason we really pursue goals is to cause ourselves to expand and grow. Achieving goals by themselves will never make us happy in the long term; it's who you become, as you overcome the obstacles necessary to achieve your goals, that can give you the deepest and most long-lasting sense of fulfillment. ~ Anthony Robbins ~

9. Happiness

Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy. ~ Guillaume Apollinaire ~

10. Truth

You never find yourself until you face the truth. ~ Pearl Bailey ~
