The Top 10 Ways to Begin Meditating

1. Sit with your spine straight but comfortable.

2. Wear clothes that detach you from your environment, such as a robe or other garment that you will use only for meditating.

3. Have a special place that is used only for meditation and a special rug or cloth to sit on.

4. Breath deeply and consciously from your diaphragm . . . be aware of your breathing.

5. Repeat the word OM to yourself as you breath.

6. Empty your mind gently but firmly until it becomes clear.

7. Keep your eyelids closed, but roll your eyes UP in your head . . . look upward!

8. Do this at a time when you won't be interrupted.

9. Hold your body as still as possible.

10. Start with just 5 minutes at a time.
